Dear friends of and from Switzerland. If, from time to time, you would like to get together with the Swiss and the friends of Switzerland living in the Greater Philadelphia Area for a social or cultural event, you are invited to join this Society, the largest and most active Swiss Organization in the Delaware Valley. Members are from all age groups as well as from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of professional experience and cultural interests.

Group events are arranged periodically throughout the year and include: a Picnic in late Spring, the Swiss Independence Day Celebration on or around August First, a "Winzerfest" or "Oktoberfest" in the Fall, an Advent or Christmas Party in December, a Dinner Dance in February and the Annual Membership Meeting in April.

Cultural Events, such as visits by Swiss artists, Swiss related exhibitions, films, etc. are arranged whenever an opportunity arises. These events are largely funded by the Maurice Rohrbach Fund (MRF) of the Swiss-American Cultural Exchange.

In addition....

Our Jass Club meets every month at a different member's house.

 And the Hiking Club arranges several hikes during the year.

OBJECTIVE

The primary objective of the NEW HELVETIC SOCIETY, Pennsylvania Chapter, is friendly association, independent of any political party or religious association. The principal aims of the society are:

a) To achieve closer contact among Swiss and descendants of Swiss as well as among Swiss societies, and to work for better collaboration between the Swiss nationals at home and abroad in the analysis of their respective problems.

b) To cultivate and strengthen the existing bonds of friendship between the Swiss and American people.

c) To maintain and propagate the Swiss spirit, solidarity, freedom, tolerance and international understanding.

d) In general, to acquaint Swiss and American with the cultural life and achievements of both nations as an aid to good relationship between the people.
